Department of Psychology
The Department offers a professional course leading to the Masters degree in Applied Psychology. The curriculum is designed to give training in various psychological skills and techniques such as psychodiagnostics, psychotherapy, behaviour modification, bio-feedback, test construction and scaling techniques, application of behavioural technology in Clinical Industrial and social settings. It is mandatory for all students who join the course to undergo training in hospitals, industries and marketing organizations, schools and counselling agencies. The Department in consultation with the students arranges for training and placement opportunities for them in hospitals, industries, schools, NGOs’, Advertising agencies and social welfare organizations.
The focus of research is clinical psychology, organizational behaviour social psychology and counselling especially in the areas of health, social issues, social problem management, school counselling, industrial and organizational issues.
It is possible that some or all the teaching with respect to this Department may take place in the North Campus.
